Fine Art

with a Local Flair

Ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil, drawing and painting have been favorite activities.  I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and migrated to South as a young teenager. In 2001, I graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in psychology.  While I was there, I took some art classes.  Shortly after graduating, however, I laid down my paint brushes for many years.  Recently I picked them up again, compelled by a passion for art.  Over the past few years, I have learned from experience, from other artists, and from independent study of the great masters of art.   I am so thankful for the creative gifting that God has given me, and I seek to convey beauty and truth in my art.  I enjoy sharing my passion for art with others!

Influences and artists I admire:

Joaquin Sorolla, for radiant paintings that glow
John Constable, for his wonderful clouds                                 John Singer Sargent, for his bravura brushwork
Vincent Van Gogh, for the sense of                                          Paul Cezanne, for the rhythm and intensity
movement in his landscapes                                                      of his work
Thomas Paquette, for his keen observation                            . . .and many more

              of the natural world

Although I have a healthy appreciation for a wide variety of subject matter, I often I gravitate towards the natural world; people, animals, plants, landforms, and the like.  I aspire to capture a glimpse of the glory of God in creation. Each piece is unique, and uniquely inspired.
