I've always been drawn to rural settings, and this one was so charming to me that I painted it. The location depicted is Country Home Furnishings in Cataula, Georgia.  This painting is now in a private collection.

Burrowing owls are small, active, and inquisitive owls that build nests in burrows.  The wild petunias grow in certain areas of Florida that are prime habitat areas for the owls.

Bingham Chapel in Summer Clearing

Partially done in plein-air, finished in the studio, this depicts a historic chapel in Fortson, GA.  The spot is peaceful, and large old trees all around the churchyard seemed to beckon with sense of refuge from the heat.

Available at the Front Porch Gallery in Columbus!  A summer still life inspired by home-grown vegetables.  When I look at the shapes and colors of fresh produce, I think of the plants soaking up the energy of summer sun and turning it into food.  Sometimes its healthy to stop and appreciate the beauty of food!
